Due to his multiple incarnations and having memories of all of his past lives, Hawkman has become proficient in many types of weaponry. As a result, he is an expert with a wide array of archaic weapons from his past lives, including battle axes, maces, swords, spears and shields.
Enhanced Abilities: Hawkman has super human strength, durability and endurance.
Flight: Hawkman flies by way of an anti-gravity Belt & boots constructed from Thanagarian Nth Metal its abilities are controlled mentally.
Weapons: Hawkman has access to an entire arsenal of medieval weaponry. His favoured weapons are the mace and flail.
Reincarnation: The Nth metal knife which murdered Hawkman in his original incarnation as Khufu had an unusual effect upon his soul and that of his lover Chay-Ara (Hawkgirl). The pair are locked in a seemingly endless cycle of death and rebirth throughout the centuries.
Black Power Ring: The Black Lantern Rings are capable of wielding the black energy outside of the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum. When Black power rings choose wearers, they present themselves to the deceased without a charge. The rings (which constantly ask for "flesh") are recharged by killing living beings and removing their hearts; each heart restores .01 percent power to every ring in the Corps. Black Lanterns are also able to read the emotions of the living as a coloured aura that correlates to the emotional spectrum (red for rage, violet for love, etc.). Black Lantern Rings will regenerate a corpse each time it is damaged, they can create constructs, but this ability is rarely used and they allow flight.

Origins:

The origins of the Black Lantern known as Hawkman were traced to the events highlighted in the Blackest Night Prophecy which stated that a great calamity would befall the cosmos that would bring about the end of the Guardians of the Universe as well as their great work. Over the years, this time slowly came to pass as Nekron, Lord of the Unliving set about his plans to bring about The Black onto the universe in order to purge it of all life in order to return it to its original state before The White Light emerged. Following the War of Light as the various aspects of the Emotional Spectrum were harnessed, The Blackest Night came to pass with Black Lantern Power Ring's being let loose onto the known worlds. These Power Ring's sought out the dead and reanimating them in order to turn them into undead members of the Black Lantern Corps who served only Nekron. Those that were resurrected included both heroes and villains who swelled the ranks of the Black Lanterns. Hawkman was murdered by the reanimated corpses of Ralph and Sue Dibny, now members of the Black Lantern Corps, Hawkman himself then became a recipient of a Black Power Ring.
