| As a young boy, Raymond was a circus performer at Haly's Circus alongside Dick Grayson, Raya Vestri, and Zane. Not much else is known of his past during his childhood at the circus. Upon the death of Dick's parents and his subsequent adoption by billionaire Bruce Wayne, the Court of Owls, having lost Dick as their candidate for a new Talon, had Mr. Haly fake Raymond's drowning in a car accident, taking him instead. Torturing him to his breaking point, he was then trained as an assassin for the Court, only to be rejected and left in the woods to die, birds attacking the skin around his eyes, giving him his distinctive scars. Raymond took the identity of Saiko. Saiko means 'the best', or 'highest', in Japanese. Saiko is also an English homonym for 'psycho.' | ||||
