A Talon is a highly skilled assassin and master of many forms of armed an unarmed combat. They are also expert’s with throwing knives and swords.

Weapons: A Talon is typically armed with many specialised throwing knives and a sword.

Cellular Regeneration: The Court Of Owls infuses their Talon’s system’s with an unspecified chemical compound that can reanimate dead tissue and heal living tissue over and over again. The compound is fuelled by body heat, and so exposing a Talon to conditions that can cause body temperatures to drop will compromise their healing abilities. The Court refers to the process of infusing a Talon with this compound as "drinking from the cup of immortality". The compound also allows the Talon to be cryogenically frozen, for a return to life at a later time.

Origins:

Long thought to be just an old Gotham legend from a children's rhyme, Talon’s are the Court of Owls' lethal assassins, dispatched to slay anyone who threatens their centuries-old dominion over the city.

Alexander Staunton was one of the Court of Owls designated assassins known as The Talons in the 1850s. Where Talons are usually supposed to be quite, secret assassins, the Court of Owls found Staunton's methods to be loud, brash, with "all the stealth of cannon fire." It was because of of Staunton's methods, he was "retired" by the Court early, kept within the crypt of their maze beneath Gotham City.
