| Georgie Hill was a small time hood who, among with three friends, attempted to pull a bank robbery. The ‘job’, however, was foiled by the hero Spider-Man who apprehended the perpetrators, except for Hill who found refugee in the sewers. Wandering for hours in the underground tunnels of New York's sewage system, Hill eventually came upon one of the secret lairs used by, the at the time believed to be dead, Norman Osborn during his criminal career as the villainous Green Goblin. Smelling profit, he later sold the location of the ‘Goblin-Cave’ to fashion designer Roderick Kingsley. | ||||
| Kingsley, who used questionable and ruthless business practices to develop a financial empire that reached far beyond the fashion industry, wanted to amass even more power and influence. To those ends, he used Osborn's journals to recreate the Goblin Formula in a manner that he hoped would avoid the side effect of insanity.
