The woman who would become Famine was bred on Warworld to become a gladiator fighting for Mongul. Starved and beaten, she was fed on the wounded and the screaming. She became the greatest warrior of that world. When Steppenwolf of Apokolips arrived on Warworld, he asked her about death, to which she believed was the end of everything that is beautiful, everything she loved. Steppenwolf told her that a Fury of Darkseid will live forever, never fearing death, driving her to betray Mongul in favour of Apokolips, becoming the Fury of Famine, so hungry for life. |
