Fleeing from the police in a stolen biplane, wanted murderer Jake Simmons flew into the thick of a driving rainstorm over Meteor crater Arizona. His plane was struck by lightning and Simmons crashed into the crater, barley alive. | ||||
Discovered by the villainous Ultra-Humanite, Simmons was carried to his secret hideout, where he was subjected to electrical experiments, which changed Simmons into a human battery, sustaining his life. As an unexpected side effect of the experiment, Simmons discovered he could control electrical energy inside and around him. Given a colourful costume and the code name Deathbolt, he became a loyal ally of the Ultra-Humanite. |
