The Mask has no super human powers; however he is leader of a violent cult that does his bidding. |

The Mask was once a merchant, a soldier, a slaver and then a prisoner. He managed to escape his jailers and joined the cult of the Mask, a group of fanatic killers. He became leader of the cult by murder and elimination. Residing in the mountain of Mider the cult amassed a vast fortune through it's criminal activities. | ||||
The cult fascinated archaeologist Dan Garrett (Blue Beetle I) , who went on an expedition to study them. This led Ted Kord (Blue Beetle II) to follow in an attempt to determine which would carry on as the Blue Beetle. |
