| In one of the happy/tragic accidents that often befall those with super powers, steel worker Tony Woodward fell into a vat of molten steel during a riot that he had triggered after assaulting a female co-worker. The vat had actually been filled with leftovers from an experimental S.T.A.R. Labs project. Woodward did not incinerate on contact with the molten metal, but instead became a kind of living steel: his body now looked as if it had been pieced together in a scrap yard. He adopted the identity of Girder. |
