Enhanced Abilities: Spider-Man’s strength, endurance, reflexes and durability are all enhanced by the alien symbiote.

Webbing: Spider-Man can fire parts of the symbiote like webbing from his wrists. Venom uses the webbing to make swing lines, ensnare opponents and fashion shields.

Wall-Crawling: Spider-Man can adhere to vertical and upside down surfaces.

Blending: The symbiote can change it’s appearance to mimic any other garment.

Invulnerability: Spider-Man is completely invulnerable to Spider-Man’s danger sense. He never triggers the sense when he fights Spider-Man.

Origins:

Macdonald "Mac" Gargan was a former private investigator hired by J. Jonah Jameson to, at first, discover the connection between Peter Parker and Spider-Man, and later as a means to destroy Spider-Man. In this capacity, Gargan was used as a test subject for a process that would endow him with the useful characteristics of a scorpion.

Over the years, Gargan was one of the foes Spider-Man regularly fought from his rogues gallery. Although he would square off against other heroes, Gargan would always return to his fixation on Spider-man and Jameson.

Recently, Gargan has traded his Scorpion costume for the Venom symbiote and was asked to become the new Spider-Man in Norman Osborn’s Dark Avengers.
