When Robert Reynolds, the hero known as the Sentry, discovered that his arch-enemy the Void was actually part of his own repressed personality, he had all his memories of the Sentry erased from the world, and from his own mind. When the memories began to return, Reynolds transformed into the Sentry once more, enlisting the help of other heroes against the Void. He wound up re-erasing himself. Reynolds later turned op on the Raft super-prison when Electro started a jailbreak, and he joined the Avengers in trying to stop it. |
The Sentry became a full member of the Avengers but still continued to battle his own demons. Unfortunately, the Avengers came under the control of Norman Osborn, who continually manipulated him, eventually allowing the Void to take control. |
During the Siege event, the Void fully emerged and raised Asgard to the ground and was in turn killed by Thor. Thor then threw the body into the sun. |
The Sentry was brought back to life by the Apocalypse Twins, using both the Life Seed and Death Seed, in order to serve, alongside Banshee, Grim Reaper and Daken, as one of their Horsemen of Death. |
