Teleportation: The White Rooks main mutant power is the ability to drain others of their life forces. He can convert others' life forces into energy and absorb the energy into himself, effectively killing his victims. With the resultant energies, he can create portals that teleport those passing through them to another location, across time as well as space. His exact control over the portals remains unclear, as he often employed another mutant, called Bantam, to stabilize his portals as a kind of "chronal anchor."

Origins:

Trevor Fitzroy was born into an alternate future, the full details of which remain unclear, but is a war-torn world held together by a mutant militia known as the Xavier Security Enforcers (XSE.) Fitzroy is the illegitimate son of Anthony Shaw, the Black King of this future's world-conquering Hellfire Club. His father was apparently embarrassed by him, giving him the last name of Fitzroy ("son of the king") as a joke and denying him the black "M" tattoo over his eye, which was done to identify mutants in this world.
Fitzroy was later sent to the XSE Academy, although he performed with mixed success. He began a rivalry with fellow student Bishop, in part due to a short-lived romance with Bishop's sister, Shard.
Later, Fitzroy arranged the death of his older brother and the heir to the title of Black King, in order that his father might remove him from the Academy. This sparked a successful criminal career for him, and Fitzroy enjoyed freedom from conviction due to his father's political influence. Presumably at this time, Fitzroy took the employ of the mutant Bantam who was able to stabilize the time-portals Fitzroy generated. Eventually, however, his father allowed Fitzroy and his gang to be imprisoned.
Fitzroy later escaped, using his mutant powers to flee into the present day alongside Bantam and nearly 100 other convicts. Although Fitzroy was followed by Bishop and his XSE squad, Fitzroy and Bantam escaped Bishop's retribution, which claimed the lives of the other criminals. Eventually he fell into the hypnotic thrall of the Black Queen of the Hellfire Club and became the White Rook.
