The advanced technology he created that was at his disposal included: a giant electrified net, mass-produced "electro-blasters" whose frequencies enabled Gnome to control the Sub-Mariner's actions, an underwater vortex-creating machine, and an android he piloted from within its torso. | |||||||

| A brilliant inventor bent on world domination, the Gnome glorified in his own cleverness but believed that, as a dwarf, he was to despised to succeed. Instead he created a robotic strongman, called Dragorr. Controlling it with an elaborate helmet and hiding within it's torso, the Gnome seized power in his Spanish speaking Caribbean island homeland as Dragorr. The Gnome sent a missile-guided letter to Atlantis, asking its ruler, Prince Namor the Sub-Mariner, to ally with him in order to conquer the world. Namor was Insulted by the surface-dwellers insolence and set out to respond. | ||||
