| As a child, Kathleen Dare was spoiled by her parents and grew accustomed to getting whatever she wanted. At the age of 5, she began receiving psychiatric analysis form Albert Montenegro when she (seemingly) accidentally killed her brother. Montenegro identified her as mentally unstable. |
| As an adult Kathy was drawn to men of wealth and power. At one point, she was involved with the musician Steve Gazelle, but when the relationship ended she set fire to his mansion. |
| At a polo match, she met Stark Enterprises CEO, Tony Stark, this led to a series of romantic encounters, many initiated by Kathy, who made a jealous attack on his the lover Rae LaCoste. Kathy then began to aggressively stalk Tony Stark. |
