Draining Touch: Deathgrip can drain other living beings' lifeforce simply by touching them, aging them years in few seconds. The more he touches a being the stronger he becomes and the longer he can survive. |

Deathgrip was a former member of the crime syndicate The Organization. He travelled to Denver to seek either help or revenge on Captain Marvel, who he thought was former Organization member Walter Lawson in disguise. Lawson had created a weapon called the Eon Ray, which exploded when Captain Marvel destroyed their base, and the ionic reactors in the underground base exploded. The explosion mutated Deathgrip into a vampiric being that was able to drain vitality and life from his victims. He took several people hostage, threatening to kill them if Captain Marvel didn't provide a cure for his condition within 48 hours. |
