| Shapeshifting: The Impossible Man has virtually unlimited shape-changing ability, and can mimic even air or space vehicles. His only limitation seems to be his retention of the colours green and purple. He is also able to asexually reproduce a duplicate Impossible being. The Impossible Man is unaffected by most physical damage and harsh environments, including the environs of space. He seems unaffected by disease and can survive indefinitely without air, water, or food. | |||||||

| The Impossible Man is representative of most of his race from the planet Poppup, whose shape-changing "molecularly malleable" bodies allowed them to survive harsh environments and evolve into a group consciousness. The alien we know as the Impossible Man, however, retained some individuality, and saw the rest of his race as boring and sedentary. So, he left his planet and explored space, eventually ending up on Earth, where he fought the Fantastic Four and earned his name of "The Impossible Man." | ||||
