On Despero's home world of Kalanor, the people of the world were much like humans. They developed a nuclear energy source of incredible power. Many thought this new power was dangerous but the warnings were ignored and the planet was ravaged by high energy plasmas. Most of the species of Kalanor were eradicated, but those that survived were mutated into entirely different beings. Despero's race emerged and quickly became dominant through telepathic subjugation of the other species. There was much unrest on Kalanor and war brought Despero's father victory. When Despero was of age, he killed his father and took control of Kalanor. |
Next to nothing is known of Doctor Chaos. He was hired by a government official to scare away the Justice Society of America when they unofficially adopted Monument Point in the wake of a terrorist attack. |

During Ancient Egypt’s 19th Dynasty, Teth-Adam became the first to be blessed with powers by the wizard Shazam. When he spoke the Wizard’s name, he was magically transformed by a bolt of lightning into “Mighty Adam”. Teth-Adam became Egypt’s champion, serving Prince Khufu. Shortly after the murder of Khufu and the death of his own wife and children, Teth-Adam lost his way and became known as “Black Adam”, eventually being stripped of his powers, which were placed within a scarab amulet. In the 20th century the amulet was uncovered by archaeologist’s C.C and Marilyn Batson. The couple were murdered by an associate, Theo Adam, who tapped the power of the amulet, becoming Black Adam! |

During the 1930's, the scientist Ian Karkull and his partner Everett Dahlen discovered the legendary lost city of Ragnor in the Sahara desert. The two discovered a ruby and quarrelled over who should take it; Dahlen struck Karkull down and took the ruby leaving Karkull to die. Karkull came to his senses and wandered through the desert until rescued by nomads. Karkull vowed revenge on Dahlen and the world and invented a device that could transform a human being into an intangible black shadow. |

Johnny Sorrow used to be a silent movie star who was fired when ‘talkies’ became popular. When still human, he used a subspace prototype to gain intangibility powers and commit crimes. After a short career, his subspace prototype was damaged by Sandy the Golden boy, and he was thrown into a dimension between dimensions, the Subtle Realms. However, he was saved and transformed by the demonic entity, the King of Tears, who drafted him as his servant and sent him back to Earth. Upon returning, he found that his face was instant death to the observer. |

This saviour was to be one of a pair of Siamese twins. A vacationing American couple gave birth to conjoined twins in New Delhi, then had the twins surgically separated. The cult kidnapped one of the infants and began training him to conquer the world. |

Roger Hayden was a young man who was sentenced to a year in prison for attacking his abusive father and ended up as a cellmate to Charles Halstead (Psycho Pirate I). Halstead's dying wish was to have a legacy, this prompted him to tell Hayden of a secret which he had divined in his jail years, the existence of the Medusa Mask. This golden mask bestows upon the wearer the power to project emotions onto others. Hayden found the mask and used its powers to become a super villain. |

After arguing over how to proceed, they eventually agreed the baby should not be killed.The baby was apparently given to an ultra secret black ops group and after this his activities are unknown. Years later he remerged in a facility in Afghanistan under armed guard, now dubbed Scythe. After five years there, he killed his captors, broke out and carried out a terrorist attack in the city of Monument Point in the USA. |

The Ultra-Humanite was once a sickly child named Gerard Shugel. Though cursed with a failing body, his mind was brilliant and he eventually grew up to become a respected research scientist. His colleagues however, did not approve of Gerard's methods, particularly his numerous experiments involving animals. The only one who stood by his side was a woman named Satana. Gerard was eventually let go and Satana and he travelled to Africa to continue their experiments. He eventually perfected the process by which to conduct a successful brain transplant and Satana moved Gerard's brain from his meek body into that of a massive white gorilla. Feeling of the power that was now available to him. He headed back to America. |

With the passage of time, he formulated a strategy to become a specialized kingpin. In order to accomplish this task, he moved to Tibet and trained under a proficient lama in the mystic arts of illusion and deception. Upon completion of his training, he slayed his master. Returning to the United States, he embarked on a career as a criminal magician. |
